Salvinorin A analogues

2-Methoxymethyl-Salvinorin B - is a C(2) derivative of Salvinorin A. The added Methoxy and methyl groups not only make it 7-fold more potent than Salvinorin A, they also make it harder to breakdown and prolong duration. It has been shown to last 2-3 hours as compared to 10-20 minutes with Salvinorin A.

I can't decided whether this is mind blowingly awesome, or that they've created a monster. I mean, can you imagine being in Saliva space for 3 hours......? And I imagine the effects will be more intense as well, as is the case with methamphetamine compared to amphetamine.

Herkinorin - Another Salvinorin A analogue made from Salvinorin B, has been tweaked so that instead of binding to κ-opioid receptors it binds to μ-opioid receptors. It's said to be the the same strength as Fentanyl which is 81 times more potent than morphine. It's not orally effective like 2-Methoxymethyl-Salvinorin B and can either be taken sublingually, smoked, and maybe injected. Not too sure about that last one.

It causes similar effects to other strong opiates as well as respiratory depression which could be fatal. On the plus side, so far it has been demonstrated not to cause tolerance or dependence like other opiates do. So it could be a great alternative to treating chronic pain, etc.

There's also a C(4) derivative by the name of N-Methylamide-Salvinorin A that I'm trying to get info on. It may be even more potent than 2-Methoxymethyl-Salvinorin B.

What do you think about this? Is it madness, or do you think they may have potential, and could even be used as the psychedelics of the future???

salvia and vaporizers

Howdy

Has anyone had luck with salvia and vaporizers? Did you experience any effects? What type of vaporizer did you use? Was your leaf raw or reinforced?

I know there's a thread on this already, but it's pretty old and I thought I'd see if I could scare up any new reports.

I'm fairly confident that the vaporization temperatures for salvinorin A floating around on the internet are guesstimates, but if anyone has a solid source for one, I'd love to hear it. The melting point is pretty well established, but the MSDS and Merck entries for salvinorin A don't have any information on vaporization, and I couldn't find anything in a literature review.

Thanks so much!

Bad Experiences?

Does anyone know about any bad experiences / does anyone know if people have become 'stuck' in the extract experience ( as I've heard happen to people taking L$D for example, in negative environs with negative people etc)?

I've sat for one person & doing a sitting for another soon - I setup a good space of course, make sure the person is feeling ok & energetic, has the right intention towards the experience, holds it in a Sacred light etc. But, of course, one never knows how others might react to the Spirit, taken in Powerful extract form..

I guess 'cause the experience is short ( & I find the Spirit to be very loving ), the likelyhood of someone ( psychologically stable & of good intention of course ) having a problem with it is slim?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Sensationalistic news reports: TV as a 'gateway drug'?

Studies show that people who have watched TV are more likely to use chemicals that cause alterations of consciousness:)
Following this logic, just curious here, uh, how many of y'all, or those you know, were inpired by the blitz of reports in 06 and 07 to try SD for the first time?
In casual conversations, I have been surprised at how many people are aware of these reports.

Salvia isn't close to the new marijuana

Salvia isn't close to the new marijuana
Tucker Wincele, Staff Columnist
Issue date: 5/5/08 Section: Opinion
PrintEmail Article Tools Page 1 of 1
Media Credit: MCT Campus
California is one of 12 states that have pending legislation regarding the restriction of salvia, a psychedelic drug whose effects last from five to 15 minutes.

Looking to get high? If lawmakers around the country have their way, it's going to get a lot harder.

A new obsession over the legal status of salvia divinorum, a hallucinogenic plant grown in Oaxaca, Mexico, has some considering expanding the War on Drugs to fight the distribution and consumption of the plant. States across the United States as well as a handful of European nations, have enacted laws regulating and even banning the substance, with the Drug Enforcement Administration actively pushing to have it outlawed at the federal level.

Without the slightest bit of research or evidence, the DEA has compared salvia to other hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD and Ketamine and has branded it the new marijuana.

With salvia freely sold in most all tobacco or paraphernalia shops, which are alive and in full force throughout El Cajon and Pacific Beach, concerned parents and community leaders are lobbying to get salvia classified as a schedule one drug. Yet, for all the clamor, the effects and dangers of salvia have been hugely overblown.

While such dangerous generalizations are easily fed to politicians and parents, combined with the uniquely American affinity to heavily legislate against anything drug related, the public reaction seems entirely predictable. There is actually no conclusive evidence on the effects of this substance, and the difficulties the government has had criminalizing the plant are a testament to the weakness of its case. There have been few, if any, cases of salvia dependence, overdose or links to criminal activity. The same cannot be said with regards to currently legal drugs, such as alcohol and tobacco.

With alcohol responsible for 1,700 U.S. college student deaths per year and tobacco-related deaths standing at five million annually worldwide, the criminalization argument is severely undercut.

The Salvia Divinorum Research and Information Center, one of the premier salvia authorities and comprehensive databanks, explains the fallacy in comparing salvia to any other drug - especially compared to current schedule one drugs such as methamphetamine, cocaine and ecstasy. Possessing these drugs is a felony and will often lead to jail time.

Through 20 years of research on the subject, the research center has concluded that, unlike other hallucinogens that last for hours or even days, the typical salvia high is no longer than a few minutes and the overall effect is sedative. Inflated fears of drug-crazed salvia addicts driving down the freeway or stealing to feed their addiction have no factual basis. Not only has salvia not been proven addictive, but sellers have few repeat customers because most users don't enjoy the experience.

It all boils down to this: Under a campaign of misinformation, the government is trying to ban a non-addictive, scarcely used, naturally occurring plant that most people don't find enjoyable. In case you missed the news, the government can't even pay for students to go to school. How responsible is it for the already financially overstretched federal and state government to expand its role and budget? In a time when our prisons are filled to capacity, do we need to incarcerate non-violent drug users? I think not.

The best solution is a compromise between a total ban and completely unrestricted access. A cursory search of YouTube has dozens of user-uploaded experiences with the drug, many with hundreds of thousands of views. The glorification and ease of access by younger kids to the plant is a focal point in parents' battle to protect their children. Legislation that restricts purchasing and possessing salvia by minors would be a positive step. For proponents of the drug, making a concession to their opponents and reframing the argument as an issue of personal liberty would be a prudent strategic move. And the outcry of parents against salvia would be greatly muted if they saw legislative action to protect their interest - their kids.

The lack of conclusive evidence on the dangers of salvia, the low user rate and the lack of funding to prosecute salvia users points to a public policy of restriction and discouragement, not of prosecution.

Just watch those YouTube videos - I guarantee you won't try it after that.

has anyone here chewed the leaves

i have tried a few times to smoke just the dried leaves, and only got part of the way there (possibly because i'm not willing to hold any more smoke in my lungs than i already have). I have some issues with the use of extracts--i personally feel that it's an insult to the spirit of the plant to concentrate it and multiply its effects. So i would like to return to the traditional ways and ingest the leaves, once i get my hands on a plant. I was wondering if anyone out there could share some experiences with masticating and swallowing fresh leaves.
thanks,
m7

I sat down, I struck the match and I inhaled. I took in the great purple sage (ska María Pastora), venerated by the Mazatec Shamans of New Mexico. I held in the bitter smoke for 30 seconds (3x the ten great visions of my heart), I exhaled and the great universal spirits spoke to me. This is what they had to say…

Explore the reality of beauty
Explore the reality of goodness
You are; your own path
Breathe in the light
For you are, permanent within it,
and within the universal accord.

You want to be intertwined with the good
Your intentions are pure, so
We will allow you continued existence
But you must serve the whole of creation,
with selfless desire
Go now, into the wild.

Expand upon the righteous works,
offer your human abode
as the plank for eternal Brotherly,
Sisterly togetherness
and live this NOW in deep respect
Here, you will find your home.

Accept no harm, or
hatred into your heart
Avoid each conflict
With consistent love
Live it as compassion
Through the spiraling tenacity
of cosmological structure
Here, you will find the end of fear.

You own the choice,
Make it right
Visit again,
And we may raise your chakras
to new and positive heights
We will bring you into a new land,
where you may find your home.

Go now with the healing hand
Offer your love, life, light
Offer them to others
And in return you will manifest perfect peace
and divine, wonderful comfort – you can give,
this gift back to the rest of the world.
Go now, by the law of three
In perfect symmetry
Keeping in mind the personal trinity
It is your pure guide,
In the journey for which you are now involved.

Push the bounds of inner strength,
Dabble in no quarrel
Be unbiased in your eternal compassion
for humanity as a whole and then,
Repeat the circle
As there is no choice concealed
This is the way, this is the light,
This is the command which has been given unto you.

Flip the abode,
See the eyes come unpeeled
Convention is a dictate,
But truth is blessed, unceasing love
Send it above and
Boil it below
Come through to the other side,
Through the tunnel that has been given to you
See the truth in their lives
Because their eyes are the membrane
Completely unsealed;
It flutters beautifully
It is exquisite
It is simply,
Infinity’s
Magnificent
Home.

Venerate these gifts,
For they have been given to you
Name one Pleiades
Name the other Tula
Hold them close
They are the key,
The universe unfurled in grandiose vision
Their souls will lead;
Mankind to safety
Counter-clock-wise,
against the hardened stream.

Imagine,
Your wife
She is the new dimension
Leading you back home
Through God’s love
Each Center Returned,
A culminating spiritual event
And this is where you will find your home,
the home that has been given to you.

VENERATE YOUR PERSONAL TRINITY

Need growing advice!!

Hello all,

A friend of mine recently purchased a single Salvia Divinorum plant, it came as a rooted cutting.
It was in pretty sad condition when it arrived, had many wilted leaves and was pot-bound.
They cut off the sad looking larger leaves to stop the plant wasting energy on those, it was re-potted in a bigger pot and is now growing indoors. It is just going into summer here and it is not very humid so they have been misting it 3 or 4 times a day and it has been getting 6 or so hours of morning sunlight half filtered by some light curtains.
It still looks quite sad though, it has been re-potted for about a week now, and it still has some curving of the leaves and some wilting, there are brown spots on the leaf as if they are dry spots which then sort of disintegrate leaving an open hole on the leaf.
It has been doing that since they got it, and it not having stopped has them concerned.
Some of the leaves also have brown tips, including new growth.
There does not appear to be any insect infestation, however today they found a single miniature caterpillar and removed it.
I was wondering if I could get some advice to help my friend, a few things that came to mind were:
1. Perhaps a higher humidity is needed, thus a humidity tent.
2. Needs more sunshine
3. That single caterpillar has a bigger apetite than your average elephant.
4. It is just taking its time growing in to its new environment.

Many thanks in advance,
Peace and happiness find you all.

Florida lawmakers on the march against Salvia

There's a prominently featured article this AM. on Yahoo news about lawmakers' drive in Florida to have Salvia criminalized. It's full of the usual bullshit: "the new marijuana" according to lawmakers. There's a little bit of reality checking from Rick Doblin of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, who speaks to the fact that it's not a party drug.

Still, head on over to http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080311/ap_on_re_us/hallucinogenic_plant

Sign in if you have a yahoo account and give it just 1 star to keep it off people's radar if possible. The slower Salvia comes to the mainstream the better. It's the people using it as a party drug and being stupid that are playing into the hands of stupid, narrow minded lawmakers. Stories like these always make those "teenagers" go "Whoa, the new marijuana? I gotta try this at the next party!"

Cheers and happy travels,

I found this to be a most informative source. Probably more information then most folks want but if you scroll down to the bottom there are PDF files for making your own extract, tincture etc. The price of Salvia products has gone up greatly over the past couple years and I find making my own much more economical and personally satisfying in "enhancing" the quality of my relationship with this spirit. Happy journeys !

trip report, the reconstruction of time.

From my blog; "Event #6; Deeper...", this was from 2 deep long tokes of 10x extract, sorry for the length;

Hadn’t felt too inspired over the last week, in fact I started to think perhaps all that was experienced from the Salvia so far had just been from it being a novelty, and now, the novelty had worn off maybe. On Thursday night B and I did have some things in common in our dreams; seeing dolphin fins, taking pictures, being at some kind of carnival with large amounts of people, many of them family. You never know with that kind of stuff though; was it something special. Was it just normal…?

The malaise made me think I had reached a point where the level I had reached before wasn’t as inspiring as when I first started, or maybe it was that the effect of the Sativa was just too sedating. Apart from not bothering anymore, I wondered what I could do to make it seem like this project would be worth continuing. I guess I could reduce the THC intoxication, I guess I could increase the Salvia dosage.

Last night I did both; do the Salvia about an hour after the Sativa, before getting into too stoned territory. Then, even when it felt like the Salvia was coming on strong after inhalation number one, proceed with inhalation number two. No surprise then that the result was a far more intense experience than any of that felt so far. Of course it would be difficult to describe exactly what that means, I cant say that anything I have read would be an accurate description of what I felt but at the same time now I can see what they mean…

The idea is that in Her space, time gets slowed down so much that things seem a whole lot more different. You can see that anything that appears solid is in fact like a cloud of molecules, something that looks like a galaxy. You would think that something that looked so big – like a galaxy – would be difficult to see moving, and so the disconnect between seeing it as a solid, and seeing it as what it really is. What makes it possible to do though, to see something as a solid, involves how your brain processes what it perceives, it perceives it as moving a lot faster, and so you see it as a solid instead of as a floating collection of molecules, stars and planets – whatever.

When you can see yourself this way, it’s easy to see you are like a pattern in the dust, a 3D pattern in the dust. What holds the dust together I guess is like the essence of you, but you can imagine how it moves is affected by external factors as well. You could spend quite a bit of time going into what those things might be, but in this example it comes down to being affected like the wind affects dust in everyday normal reality. The point is, it is possible.

The rest of the experience is sort of like a recovery from that realization, you have reached a point where time has stopped, you can examine material reality as a collection of galaxies within galaxies, on and on ad infinitum. The next impression is like watching time reclaim it’s place in the great scheme of things. You move from a timeless place into places where time starts to have an incrementally increasing relevance. It’s like watching the universe start up again, galaxies resuming with their cosmic interplay. We were listening to Shamanic Dream, and time reclaimed it’s place alongside the gentle chants of the music.

I thought that this is what enlightenment must feel like. It felt like the point where I was at was the same place that would make dreams other lives that I could live. It would make it possible for me to experience a lifetimes worth of existence as anything other than myself. In this place you would continue into another life – there would be no such thing as complete death. An idea came to mind that it was being able to reach this place that would make it possible to exist beyond 2012, or maybe, this is where you would get if you existed beyond 2012.

As galaxies resumed their perceived solidity, and began to exist as they had once before, as suns and planets returned to being just molecules, their orbits and ecliptic patterns began to manifest once more as just everyday reality. “Just”… “Just” no more. Outside a group of youngsters passed and laughed merrily. The event coincided nicely with returning from where I had been at, it was perfectly timed with my realizations and the reconstruction of reality. It felt like a sacred acknowledgment, like a rewarding welcome back here again.

The Folding Wheel of Time

I have been relflecting on my past salvia divinorum experiences and they are very personal to me but I wanted to share a common one that I had and to see if any others have experienced the same.

When I would take take the extract in concentrated form I would be engulfed in a whirl-wind then it would seem that time, yes time itself, as though time had become somthing quite tangible and solid would begin to fold in on itself and take the form of a wheel. Within the wheel was a common experience, often one from my past, inextricably woven in this time-wheel repeating constantly. And it was as though I could enter this and that I had been given access to a matrix, a grand central station, of space and time and yet at the same time was outside of time viewing all at a distance.

I dont know if it'll work but you can take thc out of weed by mixing it with alcohol... would that work with salvia? I was thinking about soaking salvia in some absinthe. But I'd need alot of salvia to do it. I found a local place that sells grams for $30 so Im gonna have to find a good source for an ounce or so

Has anyone had an experience with Salvia where the Lines of the World / 'String' theory / are perceived? Has anyone managed to work with these lines? Sorcerers in the Castaneda books talk about these lines & accomplish supernatural feats... Salvia puts me in touch with 'another/ parallel' world with rules of its own. After repeated use I find I start to 'learn the ropes' as such. Like learning to walk again, or learning a long-forgotten skill all over again. Fascinating stuff indeed.

I sometimes contemplate smoking some of my salvia. 95% of the time I decide aginst it. I was wondering if anybody knows about mixing in an MAOI specifically B. Cappi. I thought this might produce a new and interesting experience.

Near-Birth experience! My first Salvia journey.

(I was with some friends one night a few months ago. We were listening to music and drinking some Scotch. At one point the host indicated the had some legal herb that we could smoke, but that was the only info he gave. He couldn't remeber what it was called nor did he give any WARNING as to its effects, even though he had done it himself prior to this evening, basically making it a sneak attack. I had heard of Salvia but did not know what it could do, so I was completely unprepared for what was about to happen. I figured what he was putting into the water pipe might be Salvia and that it might give a slight "high" so I gave it a try. I took a large hit and passed the pipe. I was sitting on the floor, held the lungfull for a long time since I was skeptical that anything would happen, and grabed my class of whisky. THEN I CEASED TO EXIST. The following is an abstract, poetic interpretation, but it is still as "true" a description as I could manage, considering that mere straight-forward prose Is completely inadequate...............)

In the beginning...

Darkness, only....and then sound. That deafening SOUND! That Singular sound of the fabric of reality ripping, tearing apart. Then the crystaline condensate of existence forming in a brilliant blizzard of shattered mirrors reflecting infinity back upon itself!
--Recursive Avalanches of Conflagration
Saturate the Ferrofluid Anatomy of My Awareness.
Hallowed Decramentalization of Thought.

What has happened? What is happening?

Myriad spiderwebs of astral zippers are unzipping the boiling blackness of cosmic-chaos. There is something familiar, yet inside-out/upside-down clinging onto sanity by a thread of spiraling terror. Ah yes, there it is--an "I", but it is far, far away from this place, this entrance to the underworld.

--Erebus Assailing, Phantoms are Wailing from some Plutonian Shore.

--Osmosaic Reverberations Absorb the Sky--
Masticated Diamonds.
Swollen Internal Organs Escape Their Prisons.
Viscous Light'ning-blades Rape the Night;
My Eyes Commit Suicide.

How hidden the SUN thus so?

--Gears of Being are Straining; Groaning, Moaning, barely Maintaining the Super-structure of Awareness' Core.

Strong are the chill-pallid hands of Lord Hades--Great Pater Dis. Yet one gossamer thread leads back to the light. I perceive the porthole. A pin-hole. The "This." The "Myself"; the central axis of the trillion spiderweb zippers. An empty shell called "Me". Dis-sociative fractals map the root home.

--The Ghastly Greed of Grim Gravity unGlut Groes GarGantuan, and then it wants more.

The "I" is quitting itself. How sullen the SUN thus so?
How curious!, delerious!, how monstrous the Wings of Nothingness Unfurled.

--Persephone Keeps Calling, my Soul Keeps on Crawling on-through that Apalling Dark Door.

--My Soul--a Warped, Red Doppler Moan...
Incestuous Patterns of Emptiness Create
Manifold Cysts of Be-ing...

There is a moment of aweful recognition. Lo! it is horrible! The "I" is comming nearer. It is a grotesque article of gore-soaked apparell. A body bag for the Immortal. A dull instrument for vulgar Sensation.

One main zipper-vortex is leading to that perverse container so moist, hot and tiny. It is the ultimate barrier on the edge of the intangable sea of infitite chaos, the threshold to the solidity of the material world. The pressurized bubble called "reality".

This "reality" is contained in the inside-out glove called Myself. As the bubble draws nearer the glove begins to trun "right-side" out and in upon itself, re-wrapping around the entity that once possessed it. Half in and half out, the "I" and the "non-I" overlap.

A liquid "non-I" pours into the mold of the "I" and begins to gel.

I am mostly myself now, floating on the surface of the pressurized bubble looking in, like a corpse face down in the water. I recognize a room. Furniture is contained inside the bubble along with three people. There is music playing. I still feel the pull of the boiling void that lies outside the bubble, behind the mask of Myself, trying to lift the corpse out of the water and into the sky. I want to relax, to give in and back out of the bubble, to merge forever with the wailing darkness. I strain to become denser...solid....complete, to submerge, to wrap the snug body bag around my astral self and zip up reality completely. It is not easy.

The music seems to be reacting to my struggle. When I relax the music is the boiling blackness of the underword; the voices of the phantoms struggling to pull me back and I begin fading. When I strain to enter the bubble, to seal off the tempest at my back, I hear hopeful voices straining to rhythms that are triggered by the flexing of the body bag. They are pulling me into reality. I strain harder. I become more solid.

As the real world zips up the void behind me I sink into the bubble completely and am now mummified inside Myself. The howls of the underworld spirits grow fainter and fainter as I encase myself into Myself. The barrier has been crossed, and I no longer have to flex my will to escape the void; the door has been barred. I look around the room and realize that I am standing in front of the three people. I recognize them; they're my friends. I also notice that I have dropped and broken a glass of liqour. As the hum that vibrates my whole body ebbs, I become fully aware of what just happened.....

SALVIA DIVINORUM!!!!!

At first I was completely terrified. I was angry that he would sneak something like that on me with no warning. I thought something evil had just happend, and I didn't ever want to be in that place again. But as I adjusted "back into reality", I became calmer and realized something very special had just taken place. And I was actually thankful that I was blindsided by my friend because I had no preconceived Ideas that might have limited my experience. I enjoyed several more lungfulls (I think it was 50X) that night, but the experience was not nearly as dramatic--for which I was a little thankful. That was the only time I've communed with Salvia D, but I am looking forward to the next time.....

Does anyone have experiance in making extractions? I made an extraction using many dried leaves in isopropol alcohol. I dipped a couple of dried leaves into the alcohol a few days later and let the leaves dry. It was effective in increasing the potency of the leaf but the effects where realatively mild to the extractions i had that where made by someone else.

So i'm a little disapointed, Any ideas here?

Anyone have solid or anecdotal figures on how many either have worked with or are in some ongoing process of working with Salvia Divinorum? My guess would be that the majority do not return, but perhaps hundreds of thousands (certainly worldwide) have caught a glimpse...

baaaaaaaad trip

Alright folks. I'm going to be very honest. I've been exploring the wonderful world of drugs for quite some time now. I've had hundreds of LSD trips and many mushroom, DMT, ecstacy...etc. I've even smoked salvia numerous times but I've never quite "lost it" until recently.

The other day some friends and I were on vacation enjoying a mountain lake while partaking in some LSD. We were having an amazing day and everyone was in a good space. To make a long story short, later on in the evening we decided to smoke some VERY potent salvia. Mind you in the back of my mind I thought I might have heard once that you shouldn't smoke salvia on LSD. Oh well. Two friends and I sat in the back yard of my cabin and packed a jade pipe full of salvia extract. Friend number one takes two big hits off the pipe and then hands it to me. I do the same. I hand the pipe to friend number two. I lean back as the familiar feeling of salvia starts to take effect. I look across at friend number one and all the sudden he says loudly "don't smoke that!" and starts running across the yard towards the fence. At this point I am panic stricken and I start to try to get up. This is when it gets worse. I seemingly can't get up because I am stuck in a cubed fractal reality that keeps on going except it is all the same thing. It only evolves by turning one evil notch over and over again (impossible to explain). This lasts for an eterity before I actually get up to try and get my friend that sat out to save everyone. I don't remember actually getting up but instead watching my own head start to split in half, and at the split melt like burning paper. I go in to get my friend during what I am convinced are the last moments of my life while holding my splitting head together. I look at him and it starts happening to him too. Now I think I am spreading a virus that has now just killed all of my friends, and just then did I realise that it was just a very bad trip. I started to come down, my friend (number one) came inside, and he said the same thing happened to him.

This was the most fear I've ever felt. What the hell was that?

Wisdom from the Salvia Deva

On one of my last salvia experiences (using an extract), the deva sang these words to me:

My Heart is open to you
My Blood is Honest.

The entire time I was in her land - she kept repeating

My Heart is open to you
My Blood is Honest.

She reminded me of the importance of walking with intention, with an open heart, and to be honest
I understand her honesty to be in the powerful - raw experience she offers. If I were to enter her land without intention or without an understanding of why I have sought her service- she will be very honest about my lack of preparation through spinning me into a world wind of confusion and anxiety.

Entheogen: Awakening the Divine Within

Review of this documentary from http://www.realitysandwich.com/archaic_revival. Looks pretty powerful:

While the feature-length documentary Entheogen: Awakening the Divine Within explores the re-emergence of archaic techniques of ecstacy, shamanism, entheogens and the evolution of consciousness, the film keeps at least one eye on the following questions: How can a renewal of ancient initiatory rites of passage alleviate our ecological crisis? What do trance dancing and festivals celebrating unbridled artistic expression speak to in our collective psyche? How do we re-invent ourselves in a disenchanted world from which God has long ago withdrawn?

A series of refreshing, engaging interviews with Stan Grof, Marilyn Schlitz, Ralph Metzner, Alex Grey, Terence McKenna, John Markoff, Daniel Pinchbeck, Jeremy Narby and Kat Harrison among others, postulate how the disenchantment of the modern world may be remedied by summoning the courage to take the next leap in the evolution of planetary consciousness.

Often films such as The 11th Hour and An Inconvenient Truth, while still important and profound, tend to, ever-so-slightly, stir the hurricane. Entheogen: Awakening the Divine Within goes right to the center of the storm, where calmer heads prevail.

Here's the trailer.

Okay thank you for looking,

My first plant is dying.
It was losing leaves and it was recommended to me to take preventative methods against spider mites.
I sprayed it with white oil.
That was two days ago and today...the leaves and the top part of the stem were a soggy black mess.
I fear for my Lady's life.
I trimmed back the leaves and the black part of the stem.
I wiped the rest of the stem with a paper towel to try and remove excess oil.
I put a large drink bottle over the stem with the cap off to keep it humid.

It is in a large pot with some slow release fertilizer.
Please help.
Any advice is needed, I want to save my Lady.

Thank you.

Here are some photos of my newly acquired S. Divinorum. I'm sure you can all see that that's not how it SHOULD look.

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd150/MindExpansionAU/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is misted several times a day.
It is indoors and receives a few hours of direct morning light then stays in what is a fairly well lit room all day.
There does not appear to be any insects on the plant.

Thanks,

The Sage of Seers

Perhaps the greatest realization that Salvia divinorum has brought to me is understanding of the conceptuality of reality verses the ultimate nature of the mind.
From the standpoint of Buddhism as I understand it, reality itself is conceptual having no ultimate existence being a construct of the cittas and citasikas. Salvia divinorum powerfully changes the percieved conceptual world and therefore I believe has this potential of revealing it's conceptuality as it did for myself. How it does this I do not know, nor do I think any person does.
It is though the seeing eye of mind is diverted. It no-longer pecieves this world but another. It's purpose for me was to reveal the SEE-er (Seer). Salvia, it seems to me, to temporarilly disolve what was written in the Sadhana Pada Sutras by Maharishi Patanjali, the illusory union between the the Seer and the seen.
I feel it is the temporary liberation of seeing mind (True Self ) from Prakriti (this world). So this world we live in has to me, after several uses of salvia, become only the seen and nothing more and in turn I The Seer could, if I wanted to, look elsewhere to other worlds, not through physical eyes, but through the trancendental eye of the True Self, the seeing eternal mind.
All in all my use of salvia revealed something: that I am not who I though I was and that I am the SEE-er of the world and of worlds being mind only and NOT a body or anything of form for that matter. I am the Seer.
Salvia is sometimes called the Sage of Seers and now I understand why. I AM MIND ONLY. All is mind and it's constructed reflections so the Buddha taught and so I am convinced now.

Buddhism and Salvia: 31 Planes of Existence

I have entered the "I" scale (immaterial existence) of the S.A.L.V.I.A. scale only once. There was absolutely no form, none, and I was without body and I was only infinite mind.Recently I have been researching the Buddhist Pali Canon and I came across something I found interesting. In the 31 lokas of Buddhism (31 realms of existence) the four highest realms are the arupa-lokas. These are immaterial states in which there is no form and no body and only mind! Aha!!!, I said. Lately I have been theorizing that salvia is a meditational aid to unlocking the lokas and travelling to the variouse 31 realms catagorized in Buddhism. Here is an internet link to the Pali Canon chapter III. The part that peaked my interest starts in verse 162: www.buddhanet.net/wingsae.htm

Timothy Leary's Guide-Book

I read Timothy Leary's book, The Psychedelic Experience, a while back. In the introduction it lists several psychedelics that may be used with the book and does not make mention of salvia though it seems to insinuate that the states explained in the book can be reached in variouse ways, the case of using a drug being simply a key to open the mind. Though salvia is an entirely different experience than what Leary's drug of choice presents, it seems to me that it could be a very good guide book for salvia as well? The ability of salvia to enter one into "immaterial existence" on the "i" of the s.a.l.v.i.a. scale perhaps being analogous to The "Clear Light of the Void" (liberation) and it's intense visual nature in lower states that Leary describes as "game-existence" refering to variouse types of psychedelic states explained in the book, seems to me to open the possibility of the book's use in a salvia session. Has anyone else delved into the possiblities of Leary's philosophical analysis of the psychedelic experience in this book in applying it to understanding the salvia experience or gone further using it in a salvia session as a "sitter-guide" who reads the "instructions" to the person seeking transcendental liberation while on salvia?

I probably read 5-10 news stories on Salvia divinorum per week, and they almost all report in the first paragraph that the plant is popularly called "magic mint" or "sally d". Have any of you actually heard these terms being used, or used them yourselves? I have never heard it called anything other than Salvia.

It seems that
there is someone talking- a male friend unseen, then a female, both talking
to me. I think there might be people in my room but I've been thru this and
I just relax and take no action.

My vision of my room turns into the 'end of reality' and the contents of my
study curl and morph into a tree trunk like shape.

I realize the voices are in my head. I determine to figure the female is
like a 'salvia smelf' or 'elf' type entity; only found in salviaspace.
Perhaps an architype of my personality. etc.

I forget the details of who I am..name, what I'm doing, etc. almost forgot I
smoked the plant.

I freeze in place, my hands curled up near my chin, I feel like I have to
take the shape of the tree design in front of me.

Many thoughts come to me, and I am reminded of a level five I had years ago.
It seems the entrance to salviaspace always involves the street I grew up on
in NJ.

I feel like I'm in the past, 1960's or '70s.

Many thoughts race thru my head and I feel great, and then the vision fades,
and I finally get up and eat/drink while remaining in complete awe.

I'd like some SUBLINGUAL use advice. A couple of my posts from the Salvia tribe

First post a couple of weeks ago==>Re: sublingual Thu, August 30, 2007 - 3:57 PM

Yesterday I received a 15 milliliter bottle of the Diviner's Elixir from Ethnogardens. It came with a dropper. No instructions as to how to use it. I went to the Seilbert site as he sells something similar in the hopes of getting some advice there on what to do with it. Aside from putting some amount in one's mouth and holding it there, it's kind of vague. It also talks about mixing it with water to dilute the alcohol that's in it. From reading this I figured I'd just try some and see what would happen. I filled the dropper to just past where it curves, say a quarter of its length, and deposited it under my tongue. Before I did this I also flossed, brushed my teeth, and rinsed with my mouth with an alcohol base mouthwash. I don't know if Ethnogarden's Elixir is 95% alcohol or not as the one Seilbert says it is, but it certainly has a high proof. The taste was similar to peppermint schnapps, though different. As it says on the Ethnogarden site and comparing to what is said on the Seilbert site, they're made differently from each other. Though this was just a little amount of liquid as compared to say drinking a shot of whiskey, it still had that mouth watering effect of high alcohol. As it was just a little quantity I didn't salivate too much and figured I'd not swallow as the reading I'd done said that would mostly waste it. After about five minutes I could barely taste any of it in my mouth and the saliva had diminshed to normal. I fail to see how one could do differently than I did and I can't see how you'd keep it in your mouth for 20 minutes. I was hoping it had been absorbed, but I guess it hadn't as I never felt any different 10 minutes after that. So I decided to try a different tact and would just put a little drop every two minutes until something happened and I knew that it wouldn't be swallowed. That didn't work either.

Here it is today. This place seems like a good place to get some advice, so I'm asking for some. I might copy and paste this to the Salvia Divinorum tribe as I'm not too sure which is which for these kind of questions.

My bottle went from the middle of the neck to just under the shoulder. That seems like a lot of it. If that's not a lot, then perhaps I didn't use enough beside my maybe using bad technique? If it takes substantly more, then it is a very expensive thing at $60 for 15 ml. I had been hoping for a different coming on and duration. When I've smoked it, it is incredible or confusing depending on various things, but as that part of it dimishes after a few minutes I like what it feels like afterwards, especially if I stay motionless in a quiet room. It seems to make everything and myself become one. During this state, which I seem to have some control over without consciously thinking about it, I pass time while being aware of everything and nothing at the same time. Dang this sounds lame trying to put how it is into words! I had been hoping the Elixir and the sublingual method of use would have a gentle and slightly different coming up part and the longer dissipating of the effect for the later part for me to find out more things about myself and consciousness/unconsciousness. So I'm hoping for a word or two of advice or experience with the Elixir's use. Plus I have a few questions about the smoking of the extract used in conjunction with the Elixir once I can use it for effect, that is. I'll ask those questions after I see what happens with the Elixir questions. Thank you
reply to this post
========== =========== =========== ========== =========== ==========
Second post===> today here and there
---- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --->

I see my query hasn't gotten any response in two weeks, but I was able to find out from the Mazatec site about how much more of it I will need to take to feel effects. Droppers full instead of drops! Assuming this works, I won't get but a few times out of the little 15 milliliter bottle (½ ounce) that I paid $60 for. Even if I like the effect and it does indeed make the meditative sensation I'm searching for, it is way too expensive for me to use. I will use what I have left. I'll conduct the research soon, maybe tonight. I'll try to use as little as possible. If it takes three or more full droppers of it, it'll gone in no time. :(

I will add a minimum of water to it as I found it too harsh straight out of the bottle with the now apparent too small of drops. Taking more of it will necessitate deluting it a little or it'll burn my mouth in its original form.

I'm also going to try to get an effect from sublingual and then using that as a baseline to try smoking some to see if it changes that effect and in what ways if it does.

Any tips, reports, or ideas would be appreciated. If it's been discussed here or elsewhere, I'd certainly like to be pointed in the right direction so I don't end up re-inventing the wheel or having someone go over it all again.

In some ways I also like just trying things without being to filled in on details so that it won't guide my expectations too much. Set and setting can also work with expectations and that can ruin what might work without being told in advance. That's why I avoid movie trailers, commercials, and reviews of movies I plan on seeing until after I've seen the movie.

Houston Chronicle Article: Magic mint' Salvia drug gains attention

This isn't such a bad article, pretty balanced I think. You can't really blame them for writting about the Youtube idiots. The Brian guy interviewed at the end is me (Flakey). As I predicted, we got a bunch of orders for the last 2 days, but I expect that people will have forgotten about it by Monday.

By SARAH VIREN
Internet videos document parties; researchers seek medical uses

Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle

A drug discovered by Mexican shamans has hooked both scientists and the YouTube set.

These groups, among others, are cautiously tracking moves to ban Salvia divinorum, an herb-based hallucinogen used spiritually by Mazatec Indians from the Oaxaca area, and increasingly popular among teens and college-age students, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Scientists hope the drug, sometimes referred to as "diviners sage" and "magic mint," might lead to new treatments for some of the world's worst diseases.

Available at smoke shops and from Internet distributors, including one based in the Heights, Salvia has been spotted in Texas school districts, including in the Waco area where a state lawmaker has vowed to outlaw it, and at area college campuses, according to Drug Enforcement Administration officials in the Houston region. It is still legal in most places.

So far the drug has stayed below the radar of local schools, but as classes start next week, administrators say they are prepared to treat Salvia as they would any other drug banned from campus. And if social networking sites are any indication, at least some Houston-area teenagers are using it.

At one MySpace page, a 17-year-old from League City wrote:

"I took like 5 hits of it. Me and my friends were sitting in a circle outside, and when i would look at them, there were soldiers behind them with guns just standing there like they were protecting us or something."

The drug is getting the most attention, though, at the popular video-sharing Web site YouTube, where mostly younger contributors have posted nearly 60 new clips of their Salvia "trips" in the past week.

Some feature kids alone in their rooms, smoking the dried plant and then laughing hysterically; others show parties of users. Typically, Salvia's effects last for a couple of minutes to an hour — much shorter than hallucinogens such as LSD. Users often appear incoherent and talk of out-of-body experiences.

Effect on brain studied
Bryan L. Roth, director of the National Institute on Mental Health's Psychoactive Drug Screening Program, said he's watched those videos with interest.

Also a professor of pharmacology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he first heard of Salvia from a student. A plant from the mint family, Salvia divinorum is related to other nonhallucinogenic Salvia plants, many of which are available at local garden centers.

Curious, Roth bought a specimen in 2000 and quickly discovered a unique quality: Unlike other drugs, Salvia targets just one receptor in the brain. Since then "a small army" of researchers have begun looking into Salvia's potential medical benefits, Roth said.

"We think that drugs derived from the active ingredient could be useful for a range of diseases: Alzheimer's, depression, schizophrenia, chronic pain and even AIDS or HIV," he said.

So far there have been no human studies on Salvia's effects, he said, and only a few patents for pharmaceuticals based on the herb. The DEA, though, has listed it as a drug of concern and is considering classifying Salvia as a Schedule I drug, akin to LSD or marijuana.

Roth and other scientists worry that would restrict further research. Instead, many in his field advocate making it illegal to possess or sell, but still easily available for scientific research.

At least six states and eight countries have passed laws regulating Salvia. In Delaware last year, the state general assembly approved "Brett's Law," named for Brett Chidester, a 17-year-old who committed suicide after he started taking Salvia.

His parents have sued the Internet companies that sold him the drug.

"Anyone under the age of 20 knows about it and has heard about it,"said Rep. Charles "Doc" Anderson, who tried unsuccessfully to ban Salvia in Texas' last legislative session.

His bill died in the late session crunch, but Anderson, a Waco Republican, said he plans to revive it next session.

Warning to drivers
Even without a law banning it outright, Houston police say drivers under the influence of the hallucinogen could still face prosecution for driving under the influence .

Users, distributors and some experts, however, doubt the drug will spread to the masses.

At his Heights-based business called Mazatec Garden, Brian Arthur sells Salvia for $16.50 for 15 grams of the dried leaf or up to $500 for 10 grams of an "extra potent" leaf treated with an extract from the plant.

He said business picks up when lawmakers or the media draw attention to Salvia, but then drops back down to the same level within a few weeks.

"Most of the people who do try Salvia, they are not looking for just some kind of fun party experience: a legal high," said Arthur, who favors limiting the drug to those 18 or older. "They are looking for a kind of transcendental meditation experience."

hi,
if it's possible to warp one way thru Salvia divinorum then do you suppose
its possible for one to warp back whence they 'came' in the first place?
i.e. i didn't let myself 'go' completely many of the times i 'went' and now am utterly feeling stuck
like between a rock and a hard spot or however the saying goes
plus i don't agree that Salvia 'hates being smoked' that hasn't been my experience or that of others i know
but i do also feel that i made some horrible mistakes with mind altering substances
that being said and Salvia being such a powerful and benevolent (hopefully) being at heart/leaf,
anyone have any serious advice as to how one can make it back to the mothership so to speak lol
thanks a bunch everyone much love

I've found out that it is legal to grow Salvia Divinorum in Australia...it just becomes illegal when you use it.
Based on this, I was wondering if anyone in North Coast NSW knew where I can get some of the Mint?
If anyone generous would offer me cuttings...the only ones I can find are off the internet (a sketchy way at best to order delicate material) and they cost $20 A CUTTING!
If anyone knew where I could find some without having to order over the internet (local nurseries don't sell it by the way), please help me out.
Many thanks and may happiness find you all,

Here is something I copied from the book The Psychedelic Experience by Timothy Leary based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead; The Bardo Thodol. "I" have been here and "seen" this by the way and I feel it is a good written understanding of the state of ego-less immaterial existence and the direct experience of The Void as the Supreme Brahman-Self which is experienced on salvia divinorum at high concentrations of the plant.

"Beyond the restless flow of electricity is the ultimate reality-The Void".

The Salvia Divinorum Immaterial State (realized through the use of 20x concentrated Salvia Divinorum)

First Bardo Instructions:
O (name of voyager)
The time has come for you to seek new levels of reality.
Your ego and the (name) game are about to cease.
Your are about to be set face to face with the Clear Light
Your are about to experience it in its reality.
In the ego-free state, wherein all things are like the void and cloudless sky,
And the naked spotless intellect is like a transparent vacuum;
At this moment, know yourself and abide in that state.
O (name of voyager),
That which is called ego-death is coming to you.
Remember:
This is now the hour of death and rebirth;
Take advantage of this temporary death to obtain the perfect state -
Enlightenment.
Concentrate on the unity of all living beings.
Hold onto the Clear Light.
Use it to attain understanding and love.
If you cannot maintain the bliss of illumination and if you are slipping back into contact with the external world,
Remember:
The hallucinations which you may now experience,
The visions and insights,
Will teach you much about yourself and the world.
The veil of routine perception will be torn from you eyes.
Remember the unity of all living things.
Remember the bliss of the Clear Light.
Let it guide you through the visions of this experience.
Let it guide you through your new life to come.
If you feel confused; call upon the memory of your friends and the power of the person whom you most admire.
O (name),
Try to reach and keep the experience of the Clear Light.
Remember:
The light is the life energy.
The endless flame of life.
An ever-changing surging turmoil of color may engulf your vision.
This is the ceaseless transformation of energy.
The life process.
Do not fear it.
Surrender to it.
Join it.
It is part of you.
You are part of it.
Remember also:
Beyond the restless flowing electricity of life is the ultimate reality -
The Void.
Your own awareness, not formed into anything possessing form or color, is naturally void.
The Final Reality.
The All Good.
The All Peaceful.
The Light.
The Radiance.
The movement is the fire of life from which we all come.
Join it.
It is part of you.
Beyond the light of life is the peaceful silence of the void.
The quiet bliss beyond all transformations.
The Buddha smile.
The Void is not nothingness.
The Void is beginning and end itself.
Unobstructed; shining, thrilling, blissful.
Diamond consciousness.
The All-Good Buddha.
Your own consciousness, not formed into anything,
No thought, no vision, no color, is void.
The intellect shining and blissful and silent -
This is the state of perfect enlightenment.
Your own consciousness, shining, void and inseparable from the great body of radiance, has no birth, nor death.
It is the immutable light which the Tibetans call Buddha Amitabha,
The awareness of the formless beginning.
Knowing this is enough.
Recognize the voidness of your own consciousness to be Buddhahood.
Keep this recognition and you will maintain the state of the divine mind of the Buddha

I have schizophrenia and, oh, I don't know for sure, but probably there are some out there that would have said not to have messed with salvia...none the less I did and I don't use it anymore...that's my desision not anyone elses. I thought I would share this last experience of mine. I happened a long time ago. It may not be the typical salvia experience, I am not sure, with the shizophrenia and all and proably a little bit of medication left floating around in my brain reacting with the salvia but here goes anyway:I was chewing salvia leaves one day...and I felt my body begin to stretch and twist and elongate...it felt as though my body had turned to silly puddy and was being stretched and elongated along with everything else in the room. My body then began to disintegrate and so I...me.... was disintegrating. It was quite unsettling as you could imagine, me...going...going...disappearing "where am I going?" Like walking a tightrope or being in the deep end of the swimming pool when you can't swim..."whats beneath me?...the waters deep...but in this case it was something beyond human comprehension...I felt my body forming again seconds before I...me... was completely gone. Back to this world. I got up and walked around...yet it had only just begun..I layed down and closed my eyes...at the top of my head something was gong on...I could see through my eyes even though they were closed it seemed...whole sections of time were overlapping...pieces of yesterday and years gone by intersecting in stark geometrical fashion....not images..but actual sections of time...hard to explain...no...impossible to explain. After that settled down for ...who knows how long..the funny thing is there was not a definite time span...it could have only taken a few seconds or maybe hours...I wasn't sure because..well..I tried to explain the time sections overlapping...I was not in regular time and space so there was no time or at least no normal time? I got up and walked around...next scene...the room was like plastic..didn't look real...the chairs....bed...and the rest litterally looked like it has been made of some kind of molded plastic..this went on and on and on...I leave the rest for some other time...

One of my favorite authors, Daniel Pinchbeck, who wrote '2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl' and 'Breaking Open the Head' has just come out with a series of short films. If you haven't read his 2012 book, it is a MUST READ.

Daniel Pinchbeck:
"Post Modern Times has just released the first in a series of short animated films presenting new ideas on global consciousness shift and techniques for social and ecological transformation. I have been collaborating on this with brilliant animators and filmmakers. Our initial episode, "Toward 2012," introduces the project, explaining concepts from my last book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, in my own voice. Future segments will focus on shamanism, sustainability, alternative energy systems, the Mayan Calendar, quantum physics and synchronicity, human sexuality, and a host of other subjects."

DEA Moves Forward On Scheduling Salvia Divinorum

A bit of less than cheery news:

THE SALVIA DIVINORUM OBSERVER
*******************************
Saturday, July 21, 2007 / volume 5 number 14
*******************************
The Salvia divinorum Research and Information Center (SDRIC)
http://sagewisdom.org

___________________________________________________
DEA MOVES TOWARDS SCHEDULING SALVIA DIVINORUM

The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) recently initiated an Eight Factor Analysis of Salvia divinorum. The Controlled Substances Act requires that this analysis be performed before a substance can be scheduled as a controlled substance. The eight factors
considered are:

* Actual and potential for abuse
* Pharmacology
* Other current scientific knowledge
* History and current pattern of abuse
* Scope, duration, and significance of abuse
* Public health risk
* Psychic or physiological dependence liability
* If an immediate precursor of a controlled substance

Based on the results of the analysis, the DEA may recommend that Salvia divinorum be scheduled as a controlled substance. This analysis will probably take several months to be completed.

Salvia Legality Campaign

I just put together a list of all the states with pending or passed legislation on Salvia. I used Erowid for the law info, but for each one I added links to contact each state's congressmen and house representatives. On the page there is also a list of letter templates (I only have one so far) to send to representatives. I also put a list that I plan to expand with the help of others of other ways to help keep Salvia legal.

Here is the page: http://www.salviasource.org/index.php ? page=View&id=255 (remove the spaces around the '?')
Please check it out and tell me what you think. Please give me some feedback, etc.

Also, as written on the page, I want to get more letter templates and other ways to help keep Salvia legal so your contributions would be much appreciated.

I'm a new member and I thought I should say I think this is an awesome tribe and I hope I help benefit Salvia.

Positive sides of the impending bans/illegalizations of Salvia...

Are there any?

Part of me gets a bit sick to my stomach & depressed when I hear Saliva being thrown around so casually by people, buisnesses, marketing, etc. As Saliva is moving towards banning/illegalization in many US states and countries, I wonder if it might help clean up much of that misuse (most of us are very clear what this means) we see running rampant in the news, blogs and other major media frenzies. Maybe we'd all just be better off if Saliva were just out of reach for most people?

Do I want Salvia availble only to serious students?...maybe I do. Do I want to exclude Salvia's experience to anyone? No...a strange paradox I seem to be in. Maybe she prefers to live in the shadows, gently whispering to those who have ears to hear.

I know, it's a sad compromise but one I think we have to make as we see the trends continue. I live in chicago and as the IL ban is on it's way to being signed, I'm just a little hurt, trying to find some solace or at least re-frame this in a positive way (not ignoring the obvious, however).

So I'm just thinking out loud, and yes, I'll leave this discussion wide open.

New Pharmacratic Inquisition 2007 DVD release - TODAY!

It’s 07-07-07 and the new Pharmacratic Inquisition 2007 DVD is now available for purchase!

The DVD is available for order as of TODAY for only $19.95 at www.gnosticmedia.com or www.pharmacratic-inquisition.com

Watch a free 10 minute preview on John Marco Allegro from our video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuIQVfmBEp8

The content of the new video focuses on the suppression archaeoastronomy / astro-theology and entheogenic shamanism as they apply to the core of the world’s religions (especially Christianity). The DVD is meant as a companion for our book Astrotheology & Shamanism, but is great with or without the book.

This all new video is just under 2 hours in length, and much more succinct and to the point – that’s opposed to our 3.5 hour 2004 lecture version (under the same title) and currently available for free download on our www.gnosticmedia.com website.

We’ve updated information and corrected errors that were in the old version. We’ve given the entire video a new look and layout, and best of all, it’s available on DVD! You can finally take it with you to your friends and family to watch on their TV!

We’ve also got package deals for 5 DVDs or more and book/DVD combo deals too.

The new DVD includes original audio and images of John Marco Allegro - author of The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross - kindly provided for this production by Judith Anne Brown and the Allegro family. We owe the Allegro’s a huge thanks!

To those of you who’ve already ordered since midnight, many thanks for your much needed support!

Please distribute this email to everyone you know!

Best,
Jan Irvin & Andrew Rutajit

awakening, first conscious trip

I had tried salvia several times before this, none of the times was I focused on achieving anything

since joining tribe, I have developed a greater appreciation for the plant, and I decided to try it again

I got some 5x extract from a local headshop...

I threw on Kid A.....got a kitchen torch (for creme brulee), and packed a 1/10th of a gram into my bubbler

I smoked 3/10 of a gram of cannabis prior to this, hoping this would help me settle into the experience (my past experiences have been too discombobulating for me to remember, and I hoped some ganja would help me get "into it")

I decided to have my girlfriend record the experience using the "video" function on my digital camera....she wants to try salvia, and I told her that watching me might help her feel more comfortable when she finally doses up

I took one big hit, held it for as long as I can remember and then I recall being "shot" into this trance

I dropped the bubbler, and looked at the room. the room was being outlined and sectioned off by colored lines, in synchronization with the pulsing rhythm of Radiohead......each section would click into place, leaving a light trail behind it........

the lines sectioned off my girlfriend......everything was still, but my girlfriend could move, in and out of the fixed colored outlines....I felt a sense of panic, I was kind of scared that my girlfriend was scared.......so I tried reaching out to her, trying to talk and explain that I felt GREAT

I just kind of smiled, and grabbed her hand, and laid down and laughed to the music........and then Thom Yorke and the boys took control.....the Radiohead was PERFECT for the experience......the rhythm guided me on the last minutes of the trip.....like lightspeed space travel that literally blinds you, so as to not overwhelm you

I looked up and I could see the camera staring at me........it gave me a whole "Big Brother is watching you moment".........(I just finished reading 1984).......I thought the camera was watching me, and fingering me out as a problem....like the salvia was a problem.......as in it awakens people to the oneness, and Big Brother doesn't want his subjects to feel this universal energy

I arose, my legs were trembling, and I just sighed and smiled, told my girlfriend it was cool, I was coming down

I watched the video playback of the trip......very funny and interesting to relive the
