  I've been wanting to get a cutting for a while now. Would really love to care for the plant and develop a relationship with the plant spirit before using its leaves. If anyone can help, i would greatly appreciate it.

  I got my cuttings off of Ebay... one each of the two most common strains.
  
  If yours ever produces seeds, try to sprout them and you'll be doing a service for the plant and the community... this sacred substance multiplies only through cuttings!

    Here, this nusery is in Ontario. Canada. You said east coast, if your in Canada try this.
    Go to -PLANTS
    then look under -DIVINERS SAGE
    They are 15$ each. i bought mine 8 years ago and have made dozens of cuttings now have huge salvia garden.
